Who is Rethabile Khumalo ?

Rethabile Khumalo is a South African singer, songwriter , Born and raised in protea Glen in Soweto .Her mother is a renowned musician by the name of  Winnie Khumalo. She shot to fame when she worked on DJ Zinhle ‘s hit single ‘Umlilo‘

Background and How she started

Rethabile was raised by her mother in Protea Glen , her mother is the famous singer Winnie Khumalo. She attended the National School of the Arts to nurture her love and passion for music. She started singing when she was six years old , at that age she could already sing and dance. In 2008 she was already her mother ‘s backing vocalist and dancer

After completing her high school, she was working as a showgirl at Monte casino’s Cantare in a show called Heels and Feathers. The songstress also entered season 8 and 9 of Idols SA. She first auditioned for Idols SA when she was only 16 years old in 2012.

Her Big Break in the Music Industry

Her big break came in 2019 when she collaborated with DJ zinhle on the hit single umlilo , Which went to become one of the biggest songs in the country. It was also named song of the year for 2019. From there she released singles such as Nhlonipha and recently another big single titled ‘Ntyilo ntyilo’ featuring Master KG
