Who is MFR Souls ?

MFR Souls is a House Dou that hails from Katlehong , In the east of Johannesburg. The Dou Is made up of Tumelo ‘Maero’ Nedondwe and Tumelo ‘ Force ’ Mabe . They are popularly known and regarded as the pioneers of Amapiano. They are one of the guys that have been around from the inception of Amapiano.

How Did MFR Souls Start ?

Maero and Force first met up in 2009 at an event in their hood , and became friends from there. Years later around 2013 that’s when they eventually agreed to collaborate and form a group called MFR Souls. MFR Souls comes from Maero and Force , It’s an abbreviation of their names. They then slowly became popular in the streets for their unique sound in their music.

Working with House Africa

In 2014 , they released their debut EP titled ‘Bless The Souls’. It had 4 songs in it including the hit ‘My reflection’. The song got them featured on House Afrika ‘s Unmixed album by Legend Tim White . Their song Reflection was included as well and it grew even bigger . The reception was so amazing that they were called again to feature in the second instalment of House Afrika Unmixed vol.2.

Rise To Fame

MFR then went on to hit the music industry by storm when they released their first independent commercial single in 2018 titled “Bhamb’Khanda” feat TallArsTee which blew up and was one of the biggest amapiano songs in the country at the time. The song did so well that it earned the duo the title of “The Kings of AMA Piano”.

Toward the end of 2019 , They release the hit single ‘Love You Tonight’ featuring Kabza De Small , Sha Sha and DJ Maphorisa. It became one of the biggest songs in the country and was on every DJ’s playlist during the festive season. Love you tonight cemented the guys as a true force to be reckoned with in the industry.
