Who is Kabza De Small

Kabza De Small, Real name Kabelo Motha , is a south African DJ and Music Producer. He was born in Mpumalanga and raised in pretoria. Kabza is currently regarded as the king of amapiano.

How Kabza ‘s Career Started 

Kabelo started his music career as a DJ around 2009, focused on afro fused house and Electronic dance Music. It was only later around 2006 that he started producing music aand released his debut project ‘Avenue Sounds’ under House Africa records. His hit to fame songs though came in 2018 when he released ‘Umshove’ and ‘Amabele Shaya’. He worked with vocalist Leehleza on both songs and continued working with him on a song titled ‘Bamba La’ in 2019.

His Career Success

After the success of his singles , he teamed up with record producer DJ Maphorisa on a collaborative album. And that was the birth of the dou ‘Scorpion kings’. The album was released in june 2019 and fast become a best seller and shaped a new era in the amapiano genre. The album featured hits such as amantombazane , Vula vala and many more. Towards the end of 2019 he dropped a solo project Piano Hub which featured hit single ‘Nana Thula’ featuring Njelic. He also dropped his single album ‘Pretty girls love amapiano’ and another collaborative album with DJ Maphorisa titled ‘The return of the Scorpion Kings’

Kabza De Small is often referred to as the “King of Amapiano” because he is in the forefront of the genre. He is considered as the best-selling music artist of amapiano, and also one of the pioneers of the genre. Ever since he came into the mainstream, he has played an instrumental role in popularizing the amapiano genre..
