Who is Celeste Ntuli ?
Celeste Ntuli is a South African comedian and an actress Born in Empangeni , Kwazulu natal.She is popularly known as the queen of Zulu comedy , she is known for being the first local female comic to record a one woman show DVD. Celeste is also known for her role on Mzansi Magic telenovela ‘Isibaya’ as Mpiyakhe ‘s wife.Â
Where it all Started
After finishing her matric , Celeste went to durban to study entertainment technology at Durban University of Technology. in 2005, she performed her first comedy show in a church in Durban.And then she went on to enter the So you think you funny competition in 2009 where she became a finalist. However it was in 2010 where her comedy career started taking off and she started doing professional gigs. Ntuli has come a long way since she was discovered years ago.
Awards and Achievements
Won the Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Soap, SATMA in 2014.
In 2018, she and Skhumba Hlophe had the most nominations for the eighth annual Comics’ Choice Awards.
Winner at the Flying Solo Award and Comedy G Award of the 2019 Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards.
Hosting Durban International Film Festival in 2011.
Appearing on Blacks Only comedy show in 2010.
Performed at the SA Comic’s Choice Awards 2012.
